Chair of APCOW2024
The first Asia Pacific Conference on Offshore Wind Technology (APCOW2024) will be held at Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, on November 26-28, 2024. This groundbreaking conference, which aims to advance offshore wind power technology, discuss key challenges, and explore innovative solutions to accelerate the deployment of the offshore wind energy industry, will bring together leading experts, academic researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers from around the world.
APCOW2024 will be organized by the Research and Education Center for Offshore Wind (RECOW), which intends to become a leading center in the Asia Pacific region for offshore wind energy-related research and education. For this purpose and building on Japan’s ambition to become a leader in offshore wind energy, RECOW encourages collaboration among industry, academia, and governments, both domestically and internationally, to address challenges related to offshore wind power.
Fukuoka, the host city of APCOW2024, is one of the leading tourist cities in Japan, which is highly regarded for its food culture. Fukuoka City was selected in the "Food" category of the "Best In Travel 2023" by Lonely Planet. November is the best season for viewing autumn leaves and the Grand Sumo November Tournament will be held at Fukuoka Convention Center.
On behalf of the organizing committee, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all participants joining us at APCOW2024.
